Not Previewing

There is something slightly irritating about opening up a new window, or switching from Mozilla Firefox to Internet Explorer. Be sure that your formatting is compatible with different email clients, browsers, and mobile (the one that most tend to forget).

No action

You've delivered your message, but have you included how the client is expected to respond? Not having a call-to-action can easily diminish your campaign's return on investment.  Be sure to direct the client on how to take next steps.

First impressions count and if your subject line can't grab your clients' attention, your hard work might as well go to waste. This doesn't mean the grab-and-flip strategy of deceiving subject lines are okay.  The subject straddles the line between relevant and attention-worthy - but try not to over think it.
