3 Ways to Use Content Creation to Inform Your Customer

    October 11, 2014

Most customers nowadays appreciate it when you give them well-written, accurate information.  With the advent of the internet, it’s easy to get access to a lot of information but not all of it is accurate.  There are some websites that everyone frequents, such as Wikipedia or Ehow but these websites have now become notorious for their inaccuracies.  So if you can give your customers information that is reliable, you can become a thought leader in your field.  This, in turn, will help to increase sales as it will drive traffic to your website.  Here are a few ways to use content creation to inform your customer:

    • Information about your product.  This is probably going to be one of your priorities because you are, after all, trying to sell your product.  You need to make sure that your customer gets any and all information pertinent to your product, from product specifications to product comparisons.  You’ll probably have a few tabs to differentiate between your different lines.  Additionally, you can also have an FAQ section to address miscellaneous questions.  If you’re not sure what to address in this section, try setting up a section where customers can comment or ask questions and then use these comments to set up your FAQ section.

    • Information about your field.  Another way that you can use content creation to inform your customer is by giving them information about your field.  This will help them to keep track of how your product line is growing and developing.  Sometimes, when a product is fairly new, it’s important to tell your customers that developments are taking place, research is being done and a solution will soon be found.  If you work in the kind of field that is influenced by the weather or periodic occurrences, then you can use your website to give your customers updates about how things are going.

    • How-to articles and blog posts.  Yet another way to use content creation is by providing your customers with how-to articles.  Many people turn to the internet to learn how to do little things in day-to-day life.  Maybe you have a leak under the sink or a torn flounce on a skirt.  You may not necessarily know how to repair either of these but a short how-to article on the internet can put you on the right track.  It can tell you what supplies you’ll need and how to use them correctly for the best results.  You can also use your website to inform your customers how to do little things such as these, as long as the topic is related to your product.
