Social media is where many pieces of content are now going viral. No matter what kind of business you work in, it'simportant to maintain at least a couple of social media pages. You can go with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or a different type of social medium, depending on the type of information you want to share.
Visual vs. Written Mediums
Instagram is a largely visual medium where people post photos and videos. You can add written content too, in the "comments" section but people often only look at the photos and ignore the written content here. On Facebook, you can post photos as well as written content. Twitter is good for pithy one-liners which are likely to catch your customer's eye because of their humorous or thought-provoking quality. Depending on which field you work in, you can use all three but just alter your approach a little bit for each one.
Don't forget to use hashtags. Different platforms allow you to use a different number of hashtags. Instagram, for example, allows you to use 30 hashtags in total. And by using these hashtags, you can greatly increase the number of views or likes on your Instagram account. Even if you're starting from scratch, using hashtags can help you to get numerous "likes" on each post. And at least a few of those people who like your posts will become your followers.
It's important to keep posting as often as possible if you want to keep increasing your following. You can't expect to post only once a week and get thousands of followers when your competitors (or other people in your field) are posting everyday. In social media, as in everything else, hard work leads into success. So the more you post, the more likes and followers you'll get. And this will result in more customers.
